you must decide what is most important (Choices 1 and 2), then schedule your weeks and days in such a way that you can focus your precious attention and energy on those things first (Choice 3).

Help them learn that to be successful in their new role as a leader, they need to focus on different things than they did in the past.
Be very aware that direct reports tend to assume everything you ask for is needed now.
